Australian reinsurance and binder broker Wickshire gains Lloyd's approval

Sydney-based independent reinsurance and binder placement broker Wickshire has been approved as a Lloyd’s of London broker.

Wickshire, which describes itself as a boutique brokerage focusing on niche areas of the insurance industry, was launched in January 2013 by Neale Wickens.

Wickens previously worked for General Reinsurance Corporation, a Berkshire Hathaway Company, where he spent 20 years holding various senior roles within the Asia Pacific division. From 2006 to 2007, he served as the managing director of Gallagher Re. Prior to that until mid-2012, he was employed at Canadian reinsurance broking firm Beach & Associates.

Wickens is supported by Dane Wickens, who joined Wickshire in January 2014 from Gallagher Bassett, a third-party claims administrator, where he worked in various claims related roles.

At Wickshire, Wickens is involved in a number of insurance and reinsurance placements for a variety of clients and lines of business both locally and overseas.

Wickshire focuses on clients in the underwriting agency, insurance, reinsurance and captive segments of the market.
