AXA hires former Allianz underwriting manager

AXA Insurance has expanded its London-based commercial real estate team through the appointment of Anneke Sims as underwriting manager.

Sims has over 20 years of experience in property underwriting, having most recently served as regional underwriting manager, London market property owners, for Allianz.

She has also served as head office property underwriter for AXA, and has also held senior roles at Chartis/AIG and Norwich Union.

In her role, Sims will be responsible for setting and executing the overall underwriting strategy and approach for the London Branch.

The appointment follows AXA Insurance’s investment in the underwriting capability of its London branch, focussing its resources on commercial brokers and refining its trading to focus to deliver on its 2020 strategy.

“Her property expertise complements a team that is already strong in casualty and motor which gives me real confidence that we can deliver a complete underwriting proposition to London-based brokers, particularly in the mid-market space.”
