AXA XL bolsters Asia Pacific and Europe leadership

AXA XL Insurance has made a new appointment to develop and implement the company's client experience strategy in Asia Pacific (APAC) and Europe in close collaboration with country leaders.

Vanessa Karvela (pictured) has been named head of client management & business development for its APAC & Europe business unit.

Karvela joined AXA Group as a senior strategy manager in 2015 before moving to AXA XL in 2018, first as chief of staff within the client & country management team and later as chief of staff for Doina Palici-Chehab, senior advisor to group CEO. Prior to joining AXA, she held several business development roles in banking and asset management.

Bruno Laval, chief distribution officer, APAC & Europe and regional manager, European Growth Markets, said: “With operations in 12 countries covering 38 markets across Europe, Asia and Australia, we are committed to supporting our clients with best-in-class solutions and services and to ensuring their experience is consistent, wherever they operate and partner with us.”

He added: “Vanessa’s international background, business acumen and in-depth knowledge of our organisation, gained in various strategy roles at AXA Group and AXA XL, positions her ideally to help us deliver on that commitment while leveraging AXA XL’s global capabilities to the benefit of our clients.”
