AXA XL picks 30-year company veteran as CEO of XL Re Europe

Re/insurer  AXA XL has tapped a company veteran for the role of chief executive officer (CEO) for XL Re Europe, its Continental Europe platform for the reinsurance operations.

Bertrand Romagne (pictured) assumed the role of CEO XL Re Europe in addition to his international region leadership responsibilities.

Most recently, he served as chief executive Europe and chief underwriting officer P&C International Re. Prior to that, he was reinsurance underwriting director, EMEA, at XL Catlin.

Romagne has over 30+ years’ of industry experience in various leadership roles, including head of property treaty and chief underwriter of the facultative department for XL Re Europe.

“[Romagne] will continue to represent the needs of our clients at a leadership level and will work to strengthen our business across the international region,” the company in a LinkedIn post.
