AXIS appoints Kelly as head of ceded reinsurance

Bermuda-based AXIS Capital Holdings has appointed Anne Kelly as global head of ceded reinsurance, effective Sept. 4, 2018.

AXIS, which offers specialty lines insurance and treaty reinsurance said that Kelly will be responsible for leading the company’s ceded re function across all of AXIS’ insurance product lines based in New York and report to global head of risk funding at AXIS Ben Rubin.

“Anne is an excellent addition to our global risk funding team. She is a seasoned leader who brings a proven track record of managing risk strategically across an enterprise,” Rubin said.

“Anne’s strong relationships with underwriters and distribution partners make her uniquely qualified to serve as our global head of ceded re, working closely with our placement leads, Wasner Martinez and Neil Cottington, in the creation and execution of our global ceded reinsurance strategy. We look forward to the contributions that Anne will make in growing our business.”

Kelly joins AXIS with 30 years of re/insurance industry experience. She was previously second vice president at Travelers, where she managed all phases of the reinsurance placement process for many of the company’s internal customers. She has also held underwriting roles at Shelby Insurance and Chubb.
