Barbican hires former AXA MD for underwriting role
Barbican Insurance Group has appointed Adam Wickens as class underwriter for financial and professional lines.
The appointment is effective immediately, and Wickens will report to Andrew Pearson, business group leader for financial/professional, professional indemnity and director and officers.
Wickens join Barbican from AXA, where he served as national management liability sales and development manager. He joined AXA in October 2012 as a senior management liability underwriter.
Prior to that, Wickens has held underwriting positions at ACE Europe, HCC Global Financial Products and Royal & Sun Alliance.
Pearson said: "With almost 20 years of insurance industry experience in the financial lines sector, Adam is a key hire for our Fin Pro team. His underwriting portfolio spans SMEs to large multi-national organisations, while his broking network bridges both the London and the regional UK markets. He is joining a highly motivated and dynamic team, and I am sure will play a central role in our continued success.”
Wickens added: “I am delighted to be joining Barbican. The company is known for its client-focused approach, willingness to take on complex and challenging risks, and ability to develop innovative, responsive solutions. I am very much looking forward to working closely with both colleagues and clients to help play my part in further developing our financial lines book of business.”
