Barbican lures Aviva marine exec
Barbican Insurance Group has appointed Paul Brown as marine insurance underwriting manager.
He will report to Simon Saunders, division head of marine, aviation and transport.
Brown joins from Aviva, where most recently he served as trading and underwriting manager of marine. He joined Aviva as senior international marine underwriter. Prior to this, he was the UK marine manager at Chartis.
Saunders said: “With over 20 years of marine market experience, much of which has been spent heading up successful underwriting teams, Paul is a great addition to our marine division. He is a highly motivated individual, who combines significant technical expertise with strong commercial awareness, and I look forward to working closely with him as we continue to grow our marine business.”
Brown added: “Barbican has built a very good reputation in the marine market and I am delighted to be joining such an experienced and successful team. Over the last 20 years, I have worked exclusively in this sector and I hope that the insight that this has given will help me make a strong contribution to the ongoing success of the division.”
