Beazley names engineering portfolio leader in US

Specialist insurer Beazley has appointed Santiago Jaramillo as engineering focus group leader for the US and Latin America, based in Miami.

Jaramillo will report to Colin Rose, Beazley's head of construction and engineering.

In his newly expanded role, Jaramillo will be responsible for building Beazley’s portfolio in the US, with the builders’ risk teams in San Francisco and Atlanta reporting to him.

Jaramillo will also be supported by an additional underwriter in Miami, which is Beazley’s hub for its Latin American business.

Rose commented: "Since Santiago joined us in 2016, it was clear that, with his extensive experience and knowledge of the US and Latin American markets, he would play a pivotal role in the development of our specialist construction and engineering portfolio in both the US, where we are well established, and in Latin America where we have ambitious plans to grow.

"This is a key position and I am delighted that we have been able to draw on Beazley’s depth of talent to lead and grow our portfolio in these important markets."
