Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance expands team in Spain

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI), a wholly owned subsidiary of Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway, has expanded its team in Spain with the appointment of Alejandro Lovera and Silvia Sanchez.

Lovera joins as head of executive and professional lines, and Sanchez as head of operations. Both the executives will be based in BHSI’s office in Madrid.

Before joining BHSI, Lovera was financial lines manager, Iberia & Portugal at Chubb European Group in Spain. He has spent nearly 15 years in the commercial insurance industry, most of it specialising in financial lines.

Silvia comes to BHSI with 15 years of experience in operations, legal and compliance in the commercial insurance industry, most recently as operations director for RSA in Spain.
