BIBA renews GAP Scheme with Jackson Lee Underwriting

The British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA) has renewed its GAP scheme with Jackson Lee Underwriting for a further three years.

It is the second renewal for the scheme after the partnership began in 2012. Jackson Lee has been offering GAP Insurance exclusively to insurance brokers for over 27 years.

The GAP scheme, which is exclusive to BIBA members, covers most personal and commercial vehicles from motorcycles to 44-ton tractor units and fleets. Additionally, it will cover most uses including courier, driving instructors and taxis.

BIBA has also changed the wording to provide ‘Universal GAP’ insurance with just three exclusions. It was developed to offer a plain English policy wording that gives customers contract certainty.

BIBA said the renewal will be of particular benefit to BIBA members given the recent reduction of GAP capacity in the UK.

“Our members find this flagship scheme very valuable. It is easy to market; Jackson Lee provides a first class service and their customers find the cover to be extensive and reliable from secure A rated capacity," said BIBA’s CEO Steve White. "We’re delighted to be renewing the Scheme with Jackson Lee.”
