BMS hires managing director of M&A and tax insurance

Specialist re/insurance broker BMS Group has appointed Tan Pawar as managing director of its new private equity, mergers & acquisitions (M&A) and tax insurance division.

Pawar has over 13 years’ M&A and legal experience. He has also held various senior positions at Paragon International Insurance Brokers and Willis.

In his new role, Pawar will lead the multi-disciplinary team designing insurance solutions for cross-border and special situation M&A transactions. He will report to Ian Gormley, managing director of BMS Global Risks.

Gormley said: “BMS launched this division last December and we have since been in contact with a number of current and potential clients. The conversations we have had over the past few months help us further understand the increasing market demand for customised M&A insurance products, particularly in the current situation. We are therefore pleased to welcome Tan and to accelerate our development in private equity, M&A and tax related insurance business.”
