Brit boosts programme capability with Axis president in the US
Specialty insurer Brit has appointed former Axis Capital executive Tim Chesson as senior vice president, programmes in the US.
Chesson joined Brit Global Specialty USA (BGSU) effective January 23, reporting to executive vice president of property Noreen Metcalfe.
He joined Brit from Axis Capital where he spent over 13 years, most recently as president of US division, where he ran the programme business. Prior to Axis, Chesson held senior roles at Combined Specialty Group, RLI Group, Zurich Insurance and Hartford Insurance Group.
In his new role, Chesson will write property, casualty, package and miscellaneous lines to specialised US based agencies. With a focus on niche programme managers written 100 percent on E&S and admitted paper, the approach differs from, and is complimentary to, Brit’s current London-based MGA capabilities.
