Cathedral hires Argenta exec to head property treaty

Lancashire’s Lloyd’s business Cathedral Underwriting has appointed Jon Barnes as head of its property treaty reinsurance business for Syndicate 2010.

He will also lead reinsurance structuring and purchasing for Syndicates 2010 and 3010 and assist with reinsurance coverage for the wider Lancashire group.

Barnes joins from Argenta Syndicate 2121, where he most recently served as deputy active underwriter.

Richard Williams, active underwriter for Cathedral Syndicates 2010 and 3010, said: “Jon’s broad market experience and in particular his knowledge of property lines will strengthen our reinsurance offering. Jon will also make an important contribution to the structuring of our Lloyd’s and Group outwards reinsurance programmes.
