CEO of AssuredPartners join Citizens board
Senate President Don Gaetz has appointed Jim Henderson to the Citizens Property Insurance Corporation board of governors.
Citizens Property Insurance Corporation is a not-for-profit government entity created by the Florida Legislature in 2002. Its mission is to provide insurance protection to Florida policyholders who are required to but are unable to find property insurance coverage in the private market.
As a Senate appointee, Henderson will support ongoing action to reduce Florida residents' liability for losses sustained by Citizens in a major storm.
Henderson, chief executive officer of AssuredPartners, began his career as an audit supervisor in the health insurance practice at Ernst & Whinney. Since then, he has served as chief financial officer, senior vice president, and treasurer of Ormond Reinsurance Group and vice chairman and chief operating officer of Brown & Brown.
Gaetz said: "Jim Henderson is one of Florida's most experienced leaders in the field of insurance. He will bring a solid understanding of the often complex aspects of the industry, including reinsurance, to the Citizens board."
