Chubb appoints international entertainment insurance head

Chubb has appointed Francis Hernandez as entertainment manager for overseas general insurance. He is currently the entertainment manager for Chubb in the UK and Ireland.

In his new role, Hernandez will be responsible for the management and growth of Chubb’s international entertainment business, which includes insurance solutions for event cancellation, film and TV production and photography.

He will retain his responsibilities for the company’s UK and London market portfolio and will continue to be based in London, reporting to division president David Robinson. Hernandez will report to Bill Puleo, head of custom industry solutions, overseas general insurance.

Hernandez joined Chubb in 2010 as European entertainment manager and UK and Ireland specialisms manager, and was appointed to his current role in January 2016. Prior to that, he held a number of entertainment underwriting and broking roles.

Puleo commented: "By 2019, the total value of the global entertainment and media market is forecast to surpass $2 trillion. This is a market with huge – and ever expanding – value, and at the same time rapidly evolving risks which require a specialist approach and expertise."

"Frankie, who has led our regional entertainment business with great skill, has the market knowledge and experience to ensure that we provide brokers and companies internationally with the comprehensive cover they need and deserve in this high-risk, high-tech industry. I look forward to working with him to further build our international business."
