CNA Hardy lures XL Catlin exec

CNA Hardy has appointed Clive Magnus as senior underwriter for upstream energy, as it continues to strengthen its offering.

Magnus joins from XL Catlin where he served as Catlin's class underwriter for upstream energy in London.

This follows hot on the heels of the appointment of Carl Day to lead CNA Hardy’s energy and marine book of business. Day joined in February from Hiscox, where he was responsible for upstream energy.

Day said: “This is part of our long-term strategy to build scale and relevance across our chosen sectors. His appointment underpins our intention to bring go-to market leaders into our underwriting team.”
