Cooper Gay launches Latin American energy practice
Cooper Gay Miami, the Latin American headquarters of Cooper Gay Swett & Crawford (CGSC), has launched a Latin American energy practice.
The practice will target regional business with a particular focus on the placement of facultative and treaty reinsurance for the oil and gas exploration and power generation sectors.
Based across Cooper Gay’s nine Latin American offices, the practice will be led and coordinated by Luc Van Eyghen, country manager of Cooper Gay Chile.
Previously reporting to Cooper Gay Argentina, Cooper Gay Chile now reports directly to the regional headquarters in Miami.
Steve Jackson, regional chief executive officer for Latin America, said: “Globally Cooper Gay has been at the forefront of developing innovative energy reinsurance programmes for many years. By investing the development of a regional energy practice we now intend to specifically help this growing market to secure the specialist protection required to deliver the power generation and exploration projects that are so important to the economy in Latin America.”
