Cooper Gay makes three senior hires for energy division
Cooper Gay has expanded its energy division with the appointment of Simon Hirst-Marsden as head of energy technical upstream and Tony Rastall as divisional director of energy, specialising in onshore construction risks.
Both Hirst-Marsden and Rastall will report to Richard Haines, who has been appointed as managing director of the energy division.
Hirst-Marsden joins Cooper Gay from Lloyd & Partners where he served as an energy claims executive and senior partner, where he was responsible for handling large complex claims particularly in the onshore and offshore energy/power areas.
He previously served as senior vice president and head of marine, property, aviation and transportation (including energy/power and political risks) claims for ACE Europe (now Chubb).
Rastall has almost 40 years of onshore construction and engineering insurance experience, having most recently served as a partner at Arthur J Gallagher, where he responsible for client development and retention, focusing on US and Middle East markets.
Finally, Haines previously managed the onshore energy team at NMB. He joined from JLT in 2003 and became a partner in the business in 2009.
