Deutsche Bank hires new insurance head from Morgan Stanley

Meir Lewis has been appointed managing director and head of insurance investment banking at Deutsche Bank.

Lewis will join from Morgan Stanley where he spent the last seven years providing investment banking coverage to the North America insurance sector with a focus on large-cap P&C carriers, specialty mid-cap companies, and life and reinsurance clients.

Lewis will be based in New York, and report to co-head of global Financial Institutions Group, Celeste Guth.

"We continue to invest in our FIG platform and the addition of Meir will help further strengthen the strategic advice we provide to client in the insurance sector," Guth said. "We see significant opportunity for our firm and our clients as they adapt to the global transformation taking place in the industry."
