Direct Line boosts board with Dixons exec

Direct Line Insurance Group has appointed Sebastian James to the board as a non-executive director.

James is group chief executive of Dixons Carphone and has held a number of senior strategic and operational positions in the retail, consulting and insurance sectors. He was group chief executive of Dixons Retail prior to its merger with Carphone Warehouse Group in August 2014.

Mike Biggs, chairman of Direct Line Group, said: "I am delighted to welcome Sebastian to the Direct Line Group board. His appointment will complement the skills and experience of the existing members of the Board, which will benefit from his profound knowledge of customer service in a digital retail market."
