Drinker Biddle & Reath hires two
Law firm Drinker Biddle & Reath has added two US lawyers to its London Office.
Charles Cowan and Kristi Garrett join Andrea Best, who heads the office and was named a partner earlier this year. All three are part of the corporate and securities practice group and support the insurance transactional and regulatory practice.
Cowan joins the firm as counsel. He was most recently the manager of investigations at Lloyd’s of London where he handled US investigations and regulatory compliance, financial crime matters and trade sanctions compliance. Cowan also worked closely with Lloyd’s Performance Board to evaluate “emerging risks” including cyber-liability, virtual currency start-ups, marijuana businesses and others.
Kristi Garrett joins the firm after successful stints at law firms in New York City and London and has previously worked with several of the firm’s NYC-based lawyers.
