EC3 Brokers hires former Greenlight Re, Wellington executives for US expansion

London-based EC3 Brokers has appointed James Norris as chief actuary and Terry Holley as senior vice president in the US.

Based in Dallas, Norris joins from Lapis Resources where he was president. He has more than 25 years of experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry. Previously, he held positions including chief actuary at Greyhawk Insurance Company and Atlas General Insurance Services and was vice president and actuary at Greenlight Re. He will assist EC3 clients with enhanced actuarial and analytical capabilities.

Holley joined in June having spent the past year working as a consultant to develop a new start-up MGA. Throughout his career Holley has worked closely with MGAs and captives to develop reinsured programmes. He was previously a director at Wellington Insurance Group, where he developed insurance carrier relationships, and worked as vice president at ALPS Reinsurance Intermediaries, which was later bought by Willis Re.

Both the executives will report to Chris Hilton, president of EC3 Brokers US, and work closely with London-based chief executive officer Danny Driscoll.

Hilton said: “This is a great opportunity for EC3 Brokers to advance in a fast-paced market and excel in reinsurance business. Terry brings a unique skill set and increases capabilities to enhance our clients’ experience within the MGA reinsurance market, while James will enhance analytics for our clients and program and product development, taking EC3 Brokers’ capabilities to a new level.”

Driscoll added: “We are making strides into the North American market. With offices in London and the Middle East, the addition of Terry and James in the US is a testament to EC3 Brokers’ continued investment and growth in the insurance and reinsurance markets across the globe. We look forward to delivering our specialised personal service while expanding further afield.”
