Ed poaches Willis Re exec to head marine/energy reinsurance

Ed, the broker formerly known as Cooper Gay, has appointed Andy Wakefield as managing director of marine and energy reinsurance.

Wakefield will take up his role later this year, and will report to CEO of reinsurance Kieran Angelini-Hurll.

He joins Ed from Willis Re, where he most recently served as an executive director, focusing on European and London market business. Prior to this, Wakefield served as a senior broker at Aon Benfield.

Angelini-Hurll said: "Andy is an excellent addition to our reinsurance team and the ideal candidate to spearhead the growth of our marine and energy reinsurance offering.
