Enstar appointed as run-off manager for Gable Insurance

Enstar (EU) has been appointed as run-off manager for Gable Insurance with effect from 16 December 2016.

Run-off specialist Enstar was selected by Gable liquidator Batliner Wanger Batliner to oversee all claims management and technical operations of Gable.

Liechtenstein-based Gable Insurance went into liquidation in November. "The Gable Group has for some time been trying to meet the onerous obligations of the Solvency II regime. Unfortunately, it has proved impossible to do so," Gable owner William Dewsall had previously said.

Founded in 2006, Gable was set up as a European non-life insurer, underwriting a range of specialist policies for the commercial sectors in the UK, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain and Sweden. Its products included motor, property and workers’ compensation.
