ERS lures Aviva exec

Motor insurer ERS has appointed Alex Hardy as head of business development in the South of the UK.

In his new role, Hardy will lead the team of business development executives in the South as well as managing some of his own relationships. He will report to Sam Hudson, commercial director.

Hardy joins ERS after nearly 14 years at Aviva where he worked in a number of roles including underwriting, and deal and account management.

Hudson said: “Having worked with Alex at Aviva, I am fully aware of his capability and track record. Alex’s drive, experience and passion make him the ideal candidate for this position and attracting someone of his calibre to ERS is another indicator of our growing success. I know that Alex will play a huge part in moving the business on in support of our ambition to grow and hit a sustainable 90 percent COR.”

Hardy added: “I am really excited to be joining ERS at a period of positive change. My industry experience has been focused solely on the broker channel and so to be joining an organisation that is 'motor only, broker only' is a great match.”
