Everest raids Chubb for financial lines expansion
Everest Specialty Underwriters (ESU), a unit of Everest Insurance, has expanded its financial lines portfolio with the addition of new executives from P&C insurer Chubb.
The new hires will focus on providing management liability insurance solutions for private and not-for-profit insureds.
Patrick Sklarski has been named director of the Chicago region, responsible for overseeing a team underwriting complex private and not-for-profit accounts in Chicago and the Pacific Northwest. Sklarski joins from Chubb where he was an assistant vice president underwriting in the Pacific Northwest territory.
Laurie Tolton has been appointed manager responsible for underwriting private and not-for-profit accounts, based in the Everest Insurance Chicago office and reporting to Sklarski. Tolton joins Everest from OneBeacon Insurance Company, where she was responsible for underwriting small to mid-size private companies. Tolton previously worked for Chubb in the private company/not-for-profit division servicing the Chicago area, and prior to that as a marketing associate on the broker side at The Odell Studner Group in Pennsylvania.
Lastly, Ansumana Diggs has been named a senior underwriter in New York, responsible for underwriting private and not-for-profit insureds. Diggs also spent nearly 4 years at Chubb as a financial lines underwriter for the private company/not-for-profit financial lines division.
