Everest Re launches search for new CEO to replace Addesso

Everest Re is seeking a new chief executive following the announcement that its current head, Dominic Addesso, will retire at the end of 2019.

The company's board has launched a search as part of its succession planning process which it said will include a review of internal and external candidates for the position.

“Dom has done a great job of growing Everest and positioning us for the future. We are thankful for his continued leadership,” said Joseph Taranto, chairman of the board.

In November 2018, Everest Re extended the employment agreement of Addesso to December 31, 2019.

Addesso joined Everest in 2009 as executive vice president and chief financial officer, and was appointed president in June 2011. He became the chief executive officer upon the retirement of Joseph Taranto at the end of 2013.

Prior to joining Everest, Addesso was the president of regional markets for Munich Re America.
