Frederick Mutual signs up for Betterview property analytics for policy lifecycle

US insurer Frederick Mutual has signed up for Betterview's property analytics, saying it gives them a better understanding of risk.

The Maryland-based insurer said it would use the tool throughout the policy lifecycle, from loss control and underwriting to claims and catastrophe response. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Nancy Newmister, the company's president and chief executive officer, said: “Betterview’s building and property data and analytics, along with its historical imagery and address-specific peril information, allowed us to gain a better understanding of risk, whether it was underwriting new business or determining the cause of a claim for reinsurance purposes.”

Betterview, based in San Francsico, was founded in 2014.
