Furness Insurance, a turn-key provider of professional and financial lines insurance via delegated underwriting and claims handling authorities, has snagged Jaz Saggu as its new chief operating officer (COO).

Saggu is a seasoned group COO and board-level insurance executive, who has delivered transformational change and built new international businesses in a wide range of insurance environments, Furness said, including at insurance companies, brokers and MGAs. He joins from MD Insurance Services where he was also COO, and previously worked at Freedom Services, Willis Towers Watson and RiverStone.

In his new role Saggu is responsible for driving Furness’ expansion in Europe. Furness has a growing presence in Milan, and has launched operations in Spain and Belgium, complementing its headquarters in London.

Saggu described Furness as “an entrepreneurial, growing and profitable business” that is expanding into new territories, products and services.
