Gallagher hires ex-Marsh/Chubb as global energy director

Global insurance broker  Gallagher has bolstered its energy practice with a senior hire who previously worked at Marsh, Chubb, and joins the firm from NFP.

Stefan Szulc (pictured) has been appointed as the new executive director of its global energy practice.

He will work closely with the practice’s managing director Mike Hogue to bring consultative risk management support and insurance brokerage services to energy clients and assist in growing the energy practice.

Szulc brings more than two decades of insurance industry experience as a client executive and placement specialist at Marsh, and as a senior underwriter at Chubb. He specialises in helping companies across the energy value chain identify and manage enterprise risks through all stages from project development to operations.

His expertise spans specialty insurance coverages for renewable energy projects that facilitate project financing, including technology performance insurance, tax indemnities and alternative risk solutions.
