Gallagher snaps up marine broker North Star
Global insurance broker Arthur J Gallagher has acquired Seattle-based North Star Insurance Services and Massachusetts-based North Star Marine Insurance Services.
North Star is a full-service marine insurance broker, including hull, machinery, marine liabilities and cargo for commercial fishing, tugs and barges, shipyards and ocean-going cargo vessels, serving clients throughout the US.
Following the deal, John Walsh, Ian Blackburn and other North Star associates will continue operating from their current locations under the direction of Jim Buckley, head of Gallagher's Northwest region retail property/casualty brokerage operations.
