Global Atlantic creates position of co-president to support CEO

Global Atlantic Financial Group, the US-focused annuity and life insurance company, has appointed a co-president to work alongside Rob Arena.

Manu Sareen (pictured) will partner with Arena supporting chairman and CEO Allan Levine in operating the business and executing the company’s growth strategy. Sareen will also continue to oversee the company’s Institutional Markets business.

Sareen has been a member of the Global Atlantic team since its formative days as the Goldman Sachs Reinsurance Group (GSRG). Over the past year alone the team has executed over $20 billion of transactions. The team also expanded internationally, signing its first deal in Asia.

Before joining Global Atlantic and GSRG, Sareen advised financial institutions and life insurance companies as a member of Goldman Sachs investment banking group. Prior to Goldman Sachs, he helped start CashEdge, a leading provider of internet-based payment services, which was ultimately sold to Fiserv.

With Arena also having oversight of Individual Markets and Sareen continuing to lead Institutional Markets, the co-president roles are aligned, the company said.

“Manu has an exceptional track record of success and strategic vision, and I look forward to working more closely with him his new role,” said Levine. “Having Co-Presidents that align with our two businesses optimally positions us to build on our success, continuing to deliver clear value in the marketplace while driving significant growth for Global Atlantic.”

Sareen added: “This is a very exciting time for Global Atlantic, and I look forward to working with Allan and Rob to pursue our growth strategy.”
