Grinnell Mutual launches national reinsurance programme

Grinnell Re, a subsidiary of US-based property/casualty insurer Grinnell Mutual, has setup a new national reinsurance team to expand its market reach.

The newly-formed team will be led by Rick Tjarks as assistant vice president, and Randy Dammeyer as senior account executive. It will focus on developing business growth opportunities in new territories, the broker market, and the broader property/casualty insurer space.

The reinsurance provider will also leverage from the growth opportunities in their traditional farm mutual marketplace, according to a statement.

"The customer profile we target in the National Reinsurance space may be somewhat larger, but can look very similar to smaller mutual clients in many ways," said Kevin Farrell, reinsurance vice-president.

Tjarks added: "Grinnell Mutual has made a conscious effort to focus on growth, which is the key to any successful organization. That often means expansion into unfamiliar territory."
