HCI Group appoints executive vice president

Homeowners' re/insurance provider HCI Group has appointed Karin Coleman to executive vice president.

Coleman has led the company’s corporate services department since 2009. Among other responsibilities, she oversees human resources, regulatory and legislative affairs, vendor management, community relations and several select projects and business units, including a restaurant and a marina.

Prior to joining HCI, Coleman served from 2001 to 2009 as vice president of TSIC, a not for profit organisation headquartered in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Previously, she served in various capacities at Florida Progress Corporation, a Fortune 500 utility holding company headquartered in St. Petersburg, Florida, which was subsequently acquired by Duke Energy.
