HDI Global hires Zurich exec as new CEO of Switzerland

Industrial lines insurer HDI Global SE has appointed Marc Luginbühl as the new chief executive officer (CEO) and head of its branch for Switzerland.

Luginbühl will succeed Michael Rüsch, who is leaving the executive management at HDI to pursue other opportunities.

Luginbühl has worked in the industrial insurance sector for 18 years, specially in the Swiss market where he managed Zurich's specialties portfolio. Luginbühl has served in various management positions at Zurich Insurance Group, including in Asia Pacific where he led accident, liability and financial lines for Australia and New Zealand.

Yves Betz, board member responsible for Europe, North and South America at HDI Global, said: “On the back of his experience, his outstanding network and high level of expertise, Marc Luginbühl will make sure that HDI continues to expand its presence and closeness to customers and sales partners in the Swiss market. Marc will ensure that our branch is fit and ready for the years to come in an important market for HDI such as Switzerland.”
