Hiscox adds to market management team

Specialist insurer Hiscox has made two additional hires to its London market management liability team.

Previously, Hiscox added to the team with two hires from Allied World and QBE.

Its four latest hires will be tasked with building its US and international directors & officers (D&O) liability business, delivering an integrated approach between underwriting and claims.

Former Marsh managing director of the FINPRO practice, Chris Moore, has joined the team as D&O technical claims manager/senior vice president. Moore will be based in Hiscox USA’s San Francisco office.

Tony Kriesel, a dual US and UK qualified lawyer, who has worked in London for the last four years and is experienced in both US and International D&O joined the team at the end of May. Kriesel will be based in London.

The new team is supported by casualty analyst Adrian Lewthwaite who has over 30 years of experience in the management liability and general insurance areas, pricing actuary Craig Knightley, and trainee underwriter Ed Whitworth.

Chris Warrior, D&O line underwriter, said: “These are the final exciting additions to our new management liability practice. These appointments build on the already significant Hiscox offering in the private company management liability space in the US, together with our UK and continental European practice, and demonstrate our commitment to this line of business.

“The new team will provide market leading expertise, and ensure that claims and underwriting are fully integrated to provide a superior claims outcome for our insureds. The reception from our broking partners and their clients to this news has been overwhelmingly positive.”
