ICAT appoints active underwriter

ICAT, a provider of property insurance to businesses and residences in hurricane and earthquake exposed regions of the US, has appointed Megan McConnell as active underwriter for Syndicate 4242 at Lloyd’s.

McConnell, who had previously served as underwriting vice president for the syndicate, takes up her new position with immediate effect and will report to ICAT president Gregory Butler.

McConnell joined ICAT in 2005 as product manager, developing product and rates in Florida and Hawaii. She was promoted to underwriting vice president in 2008 and was integral to the successful transfer of Syndicate 4242’s management to Asta Managing Agency in 2013.

“Megan has been instrumental in the development of ICAT’s business and I am very pleased to announce her promotion to Active Underwriter of Syndicate 4242,” said Butler. “Over the past seven years, ICAT has progressed from a newcomer to the Lloyd’s market to an established Syndicate and a recognised and respected underwriter of US catastrophe exposure. Megan has been a key part of our success to date and I am certain that Syndicate 4242 will continue to go from strength to strength under her leadership.”
