IGI joins global insurance and reinsurance network GBN Worldwide

Specialist commercial re/insurer International General Insurance (IGI) has joined GBN Worldwide, the global insurance network of insurers, reinsurers, independent brokers and specialty suppliers.

Under its membership IGI will be able to place business in over 140 countries, and transact international business anytime, anywhere and in every language.  The partnership was agreed to support IGI’s growth in new and existing markets.

“This is a great opportunity for IGI to build its brand and distribution with a network of producers and cedants on an international scale,” said Adam Safwat, IGI vice president, underwriting and business development. “GBN has developed a placing and trading platform that meets the London Market mandate for electronic placement, which will present significant opportunities to expand our global presence.”

Safwat highlighted IGI’s global reach with offices in Dubai, London, Amman, Bermuda, Casablanca and Kuala Lumpur. He said: “This partnership with GBN will support our determined growth strategy of enhancing geographic platforms and expanding business lines and underwriting teams.”

Jamil R. El Bahou, chairman of GBN Worldwide, added: “We are delighted to welcome IGI to GBN Worldwide as a member and network partner.  We look forward to working with the IGI team to help develop global distribution opportunities.”
