Insight Investment appoints BNY Mellon insurance head

European investment manager Insight Investment has strengthened its insurance business with the appointment of Heneg Parthenay as head of insurance.

Parthenay joins from BNY Mellon Investment Management EMEA, where he was chief operating officer and head of insurance. Previously, Parthenay was strategy and merger and acquisition director at Aviva Investors.

He will be based in London and report to Philip Anker, global head of distribution.

Anker said: “We are very pleased to welcome Heneg to our team. Low interest rates, and the accompanying search for yield, have encouraged insurers to look at the wider fixed income universe. Heneg will draw on Insight’s broad range of fixed income capabilities to give insurers access to our specialist expertise in areas such as illiquid credit.

“Heneg will also work closely with Insight’s liability driven investment team, which combines actuarial expertise with a comprehensive insurance reporting solution. This team has been providing valuable support to insurance clients as they approach the Solvency II implementation deadline in 2016.”
