Texas-based insurance comparison platform The Zebra has secured $38.5 million in its Series C fundraising round.

The funding was led by Accel and included other current investors, Silverton Partners, Daher Capital, Floodgate Fund, Ballast Point Ventures, and The Zebra’s CEO Keith Melnick. Private investment firm Weatherford Capital also participated in the round.

The Zebra offers a real-time quote tool that compares more than 100 insurance companies.

The company’s revenue reportedly grew almost 200 percent year on year to nearly $37 million in 2019. Revenue is expected to grow well over 100 percent in 2020, it said.

Will Weatherford, managing partner, Weatherford Capital, said: “We are very pleased to join the latest funding round in The Zebra. We focus on supporting quality teams, industry leaders, and healthy cultures -- The Zebra is a great fit for our mandate. We look forward to working with The Zebra management team and our fellow investors to build additional value in the business and help further their mission of bringing transparency to the insurance industry.”
