Ironshore poaches Swiss Re exec as for LatAm role

Insurer Ironshore has appointed Adriana Nariño as head of surety for the Latin American Group, expanding capabilities for this specialty sector within the region.

Narińo has more than 20 years’ experience in underwriting surety coverages for global insurance companies throughout the region. She will be based in the Miami office, reporting to Pepe Marquez, managing director for Ironshore in Latin America & Caribbean.

Narińo joins the firm from Swiss Re, where she was vice president and senior underwriter for more than fifteen years, responsible for bonds and trade credit programmes throughout Latin America and the Caribbean, including Colombia, Peru, Bolivia, and Ecuador, among others. Previously, she was regional executive of credit and surety at Aon Benfield Colombia SA for Latin America, with responsibilities for project development and reinsurance analysis of treaty, facultative and special risk business lines.

“We are pleased to welcome Adriana to advance our growth strategy in Latin America, focusing on specialty sector coverages,” said Marquez. “Adriana’s proven expertise in the surety sector and reputation with clients and brokers will generate added momentum in building upon Ironshore’s presence throughout the region.”

Ironshore’s group dedicated to Latin American markets was established in 2012 and today its Miami-based operations underwrite insurance coverage throughout the regional distribution platform across all property and casualty lines of business.
