ISO launches reinsurance & ILS initiative
ISO, a division of Verisk Analytics, has launched a new initiative focused on the reinsurance and insurance-linked securities (ILS) sectors.
Newly launched by Tom Johansmeyer, assistant vice president of Reinsurance Services, the initiative's goal is to identify and develop the data and analytics tools that reinsurers and ILS players could use to manage risk and capital more effectively, improve operations, and grow shareholder value.
ISO said that current market conditions have motivated it to take a closer look at the sector.
Johansmeyer will spend the next several months conducting further market research, interviewing key market participants, and evaluating existing data sets across ISO and Verisk to develop a road map that will maximize both impact and delivery speed for the industry.
“We chose Tom for this position because of his passion for reinsurance and his unique perspective on the industry. Beginning in 2012, as director of marketing for Verisk Insurance Solutions - claims and crime analytics, Tom developed and led a number of innovative marketing and new business initiatives for PCS.
“Previous experience in insurance and reinsurance includes Guy Carpenter, where, as senior vice president of marketing intelligence, Tom spearheaded the launch of the reinsurance industry's first corporate blog. At Deloitte, he worked with a number of clients on system implementation and integration projects,” said ISO.
