IUA names six senior execs as governing board members

The International Underwriting Association (IUA) has elected six senior London Market executives to join its governing board.

At the IUA’s annual meeting, five members were formally elected after being co-opted to serve over the past 12 months.

The elected executives include: James Weatherstone, president and chief executive officer of Arch Insurance Europe; Jon Hancock, managing director at RSA UK Commercial; Brian Kirwan, chief executive of Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty UK; Mark Chapman, group chief information officer of Global Aerospace Underwriting Managers; and Dirk Herrenpoth, managing director of Munich Re’s UK general branch.

Rob Wilson, business development manager at Chubb Global Markets was also newly elected to the board.

Dave Matcham, chief executive of the IUA, said: “I am greatly encouraged by the level of interest from a wide range of members to serve on our board. We now have a very strong team of extremely knowledgeable senior leaders from both insurers and reinsurers across the company market.

“The IUA has a busy agenda for the year ahead and the engaged support of a well-informed board will be essential in helping to meet our objectives and represent the interests of member companies.”
