IUA programme director steps down
The programme director of the International Underwriting Association (IUA), John Hobbs, is set to retire. Louise Day will replace him.
Hobbs will remain working for the association on a part-time basis to focus on several internal strategy projects.
Day will be the IUA’s primary representative across a range of modernisation initiatives including electronic placement, electronic claims and the central services refresh programme.
She will be responsible for managing the participation of the association’s member companies on a number of project boards and steering groups working to improve business processing in the London Market.
Day has previously worked for QBE, Amlin, Ace and Brit Insurance, managing large scale and complex business and information technology projects.
Dave Matcham, IUA chief executive, said: “As the IUA’s programme director Louise will play an important role in advancing various initiatives to improve the London Market infrastructure and reduce the cost of doing business.
“She comes to the role with extensive project management experience and a strong understanding of our industry. I am sure she will prove a valuable addition to the IUA’s senior management team and look forward to welcoming her.”
