JLT Specialty appoints construction SVP

JLT Specialty Insurance Services, a US subsidiary of Jardine Lloyd Thompson (JLT), has appointed William Buchan as senior vice president (SVP) of its construction practice.

Buchan will help lead and advance the development and strategy related to all facets of the construction practice, as well as provide counsel to other related key specialty areas.

He joins Cynthia Evanko Olinger, who was previously announced as SVP and construction professional liability leader.

Since 2013, Buchan served as vice president of risk management at Tutor Perini Corporation. Prior to this, he served as a SVP and regional director at Aon Risk Services, where he managed its Western region wrap-up group.

Brian Lu has also joined JLT Specialty US as SVP on the environmental team and will be based in New York. As a member of the environmental team, Lu will work closely with the construction practice, along with JLT’s M&A practice.

Prior to his appointment, Lu was a director at Aon Risk Solutions, where he managed the Northeast for the Aon Environmental Services Group and acted as the structured portfolio solutions project leader for the environmental practice since 2012.
