JLT Specialty hires senior vice president from Aon in US

JLT Specialty, a US subsidiary of Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group (JLT), has appointed Gavin Shiels as senior vice president.

Shiels will be based in San Francisco, and will be responsible for client development within JLT’s real estate practice and leading JLT teams. In his new role, he will also offer insights on the insurance marketplace and delivering specialised solutions.

Shiels joins JLT from Aon where he was a senior vice president in the San Francisco office, focused on building and managing colleague teams to provide risk advisory, consulting, and brokerage services to clients in the real estate, technology, financial institution, and food and beverage industries.
