Jon Hancock to join AIG after exiting Lloyd's

American International Group (AIG) has appointed Jon Hancock as chief executive officer (CEO) of its international general insurance business.

Hancock has recently stepped down as performance management director at Lloyd’s of London, where his portfolio included responsibility for overseeing performance and risk management globally across the Lloyd’s market.

Prior to Lloyd’s, Hancock spent 26 years at RSA in roles of increasing responsibility, including serving as managing director, UK commercial, which encompassed RSA’s European Specialty businesses, and global broker relationship director. Previously, he served as RSA’s CEO, Asia and the Middle East, and held chief underwriter and risk roles in both developed and emerging markets.

Hancock will lead the international operations of AIG’s General Insurance business, reporting to Peter Zaffino. He will join the company in spring.
