Korean Re Switzerland appoints Hinz as chief underwriting officer

Korean Re's Swiss subsidiary, Korean Re Switzerland has appointed Michael Hinz as its CUO. He will also join the company's executive management.

Hinz has been building and leading Korean Re Switzerland's underwriting team since joining the company in 2019. The company said he will continue to develop the underwriting and client offerings in the years to come and “position Korean Re Switzerland as a relevant and value adding partner to its European clients”.

Markus Eugster, CEO of Korean Re Switzerland, said: "I am very pleased to welcome Michael to our management team in his new role. Michael has made a significant contribution to the successful set-up of Korean Re Switzerland. I look forward to Michael's underwriting leadership in building a technically and commercially strong European underwriting team, broadening our European client base and establishing Korean Re as a relevant player in the European reinsurance market." Prior to joining Korean Re Switzerland in 2019 Hinz spent over 20 years in various senior roles with global reinsurers.
