Liberty Mutual hires AIG exec

Liberty Mutual has appointed Robert Morelli as national accounts engineering practice leader as it seeks to better meet the property risk engineering needs of commercial insurance policyholders.

Morelli will be responsible for developing and delivering engineering products and services that help Liberty Mutual’s commercial policyholders better identify and mitigate critical property risks and exposures that threaten business operations.

He joins the firm from American International Group (AIG), where he served as a global engineering technical officer. Morelli has also served as engineering practice leader at XL Insurance.

Mike Martin, executive vice president, national insurance property, said: “As we continue to evolve into a leading global property market, we have made strategic investments in people and tools.

“Rob has the right blend of engineering and management skills to positively impact our property policyholders by helping them understand and manage traditional and emerging property risks. He expands our ability to deliver more consultative and comprehensive risk engineering aligned with the needs of large, global property exposures.”
