Litmus Analysis hires Morgan Stanley analyst

Litmus Analysis, the specialist insurance analytical and advisory boutique, has hired former Morgan Stanley managing director Dominic Skeet, who joins the firm as a senior consultant. His appointment will improve the company’s expertise in relation to the banking sector, Litmus said.

“He broadens the scope of our knowledge especially in relation to bancassurance and companies with exposure to banks,” said Peter Hughes, founding partner of Litmus. “It’s good to have his knowledge of the ways that banks go about ratings advisory and to add that to our skill set and our approach – he’ll bring another angle.”

During his 10 years at Morgan Stanley, Skeet led numerous rating advisory mandates for European banks, insurers and reinsurers as well as advising on capital raising, M&A and balance sheet structures.

Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Skeet was with the Insurance Ratings Practice of Standard & Poor’s (S&P) for 10 years where he was the lead analyst on the ratings of many leading insurers, reinsurers and financial guarantee companies. He was also involved in the Lloyd’s market rating and insurance-linked securitisations.

Skeet said: “It’s a great pleasure to be joining Litmus. Litmus is able to bring a particularly clear, candid and objective focus to its advisory and analytical work and I am very much looking forward to contributing to that. Dominic will work with us in a consultancy capacity for insurance and reinsurance companies and potentially banks too.”
